Comparison to TNG Ships Realistic Balanced Hardpoints

So I came across the "TNG Ships Realistic Balanced Hardpoints" and did a quick comparison against my hull numbers.   Suffice it to say, I like mine a whole lot better.   More detail after the jump . . .

Commentary is below the chart, which shows a selection of ships from my last chart with comparison to the hull hardpoints offered:

The basic issue to start with is that the figures are all way too close to each other.   A Galaxy topping out at 4250 leaves little wiggle room for all the ships below to fit in distinctively.  That said, his Galaxy weapons value is 300 for phasers and 500 for torpedoes (rather than my current 1000 for each), meaning his fights are going to be shorter, given the relative difference.

Intraship comparisons end up pretty wacky, though.  The Defiant and Ambassador are only like 10% different from one another, whereas my version puts them at around 400% different.   Ablative armor or not (and that's separate anyway), I just don't see how a ship that small could be a match for a ship that big, even if we're operating stringently in the "playability" regime where reality has to get tossed out anyway.  A Nova like Equinox as half a Galaxy and basically equal to the much larger Voyager?   Nope.

There are other issues, but most of them are peeve-level.   The original game treats Warbirds as sub-Galaxy, for instance, which shouldn't be the case but is replicated here.   I do take issue to the Valdore being stronger than a Warbird, and having a Sovereign at half-again an Ambassdor (which it nearly matches in size) is a bit rough, but the Sovereign having more hull points than a Galaxy is just weird.

Suffice it to say, repeating my mantra from the other post, your mileage may vary.
